Milton, Florida

Barbara Marie Martens, age 70 of Milton, Florida passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025, in Panama City, Florida. Born on April 29, 1955, in Newburgh, New York, Barbara spent her early years in this vibrant community where she graduated from Wallkill High School. She relocated to the panhandle of Florida, where she spent the last 40 years of her life.

Barbara dedicated her career to serving others as a health care aid, where her compassion was evident in the way she cared for her patients. Unfortunately, her health declined, leading to her retirement, but her spirit of giving never waned.

An accomplished crafter, Barbara had a creative flair that shone through in her work. She could make nearly anything, from ceramics to tumbler cups, and lovingly created Easter and Christmas baskets that she sold at local flea markets. Her craftsmanship was not just a hobby, but a passion that brought her joy and connected her with the community.

Outside of her crafting, Barbara found pleasure in playing BINGO, enjoyed the thrill of watching NASCAR, and cherished her vacations to the Smokey Mountains, creating lasting memories with loved ones.

Barbara is survived by her son, Karl Lucy of Wewahitchka, Florida; her lifelong partner of 36 years, Oscar Zorn, residing in Milton, Florida two sisters, Cindy Commeau of Venice, Florida, and Kimberly Taylor of Newburgh, New York and one brother, Rocco Calvino of Newburgh, New York. She was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren and a delighted great-grandmother to four great-grandchildren, all of whom will dearly miss her warmth and love.

Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Richard Edwards, her mother, Marie Turner, and her brother, Ricky Edwards. Her legacy of kindness and creativity will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched throughout her life.
