Betty Sue Bailey

Betty Sue Bailey, 85, of Port St. Joe, Florida, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, August 27, 2026. She was born on February 19, 1941, in Walton County, Florida.

Betty was a homemaker who devoted her life to caring for her family. From a young age, she was trained in the work of keeping a home, learning to cook, clean, and care for the household. She carried those skills with her throughout her life and took great pride in being a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Her family was always at the center of her life, and she found deep purpose in caring for those she loved.

She also enjoyed sewing, working in her flower beds, and tending to her potted plants. She had a true green thumb and found joy in the simple beauty of growing things. More than anything, Betty’s greatest joy and accomplishment was her family. She was active in their lives, offering love, care, and steady support through the years.

She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Williams of Port St. Joe, Florida, and Donna White and her husband, Guy, of Tallahassee, Florida. She is also survived Deborah McCloud, who was a special friend and caretaker, as well as several nieces and their families

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Emory “Dink” Bailey; her daughter, Peggy Gentry; her father, Gordon Edward Brown; her mother, Eva Evelyn Infinger Brown; and her brothers, Robert Brown and Gordon Brown.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Holly Hill Cemetery in Port St. Joe, Florida. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Holly Hill Cemetery with Pastor Bryan Butts officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vitas Healthcare or a hospice of your choice.

Betty Sue Bailey will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to home and family, and the care she gave so faithfully throughout her life.
