Carolyn L. Ward Faucett, 86, of Wewahitchka, FL passed away on June 16,2025 in Port St Joe, FL after a long illness.
She was born in Barre VT on July 26, 1938 daughter of Clifton and Harriet (Davis) Ward. She attended schools in Montpelier, VT and graduated from Montpelier High School in 1956. She attended college in Montpelier and received her Associates degree. She held several jobs throughout the years as a substitute teacher, working in the voting polls, working at various insurance companies, handing out samples at various stores, and piano teacher to many students.
She was very proficient in playing piano, learning at a very young age. She often played duets with her younger sister Rhoda. Other memories were playing board games such as Parchesi and Sorry in the morning with their father before he went to work and spending summers at cottages on the lake in Vermont rowboating.
After college, she worked full time with the state of Vermont where she met her husband, Glenn R Faucett. They were married on June 20, 1959 at Trinity Methodist Church in Montpelier.
They moved to Portland, Maine after they got married then relocated to South Portland, ME for several years. Once their children became adults, they moved to Limerick, ME owning a bed and breakfast there for a few years. To be closer to her son Gregory, they relocated to Central Maine in 1994. When Glenn passed away in 2018, Carolyn moved to Florida to be closer to her daughter Cynthia.
She was a member of several churches throughout the years with the last ones being East Benton Christian Church in East Benton,ME and Westside Baptist Church in Wewahitchka,FL. She played piano at about every church she was a member of and taught several children the piano as well.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glenn and great grandson Joseph Tucci.
She is survived by her sister Rhoda (Herbert) Zettl of Longmeadow,MA, son Gregory (Lori) Faucett of Limington, ME, daughter Cynthia (James) Tucci of Port St. Joe, FL, grandchildren Jazmine (Faucett) Davis, Hezekiah Faucett, Logen Faucett, Lindsay (Tucci) Lucas, James Tucci, Joshua Tucci and 10 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held in October at Westside Baptist Church in Wewahitchka, FL and at East Benton Christian Church in East Benton, ME. Burial will be at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta, ME.
