Diane K. Arwood

Diane K. Arwood, age 73 of Port St. Joe, Florida, a devoted Marine Biologist and passionate traveler, passed away on Wednesday,  April 2, 2025, in Panama City, Florida. She born on August 25, 1951, in Bloomington, Illinois.

Her academic journey culminated in a Master’s Degree, a testament to her commitment to education and her field of study. Throughout her career as a Marine Biologist, Diane dedicated herself to understanding marine ecosystems, contributing to the preservation of aquatic life and inspiring countless others in her profession. After retiring, she embraced a new chapter in her life, moving to Port St. Joe, Florida, in 2018, where she continued to foster her love for the ocean.

 Diane enjoyed extensive travels around the world, including memorable trips to Africa, Egypt, and Australia. 

She is survived by her loving sister, Peggy Smith of Bloomington, Illinois, and her brother, David Runge of Mexico, Missouri. Diane also leaves behind a host of cherished nieces and nephews who will remember her warmth and zest for life.

Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Howard Runge and Lois Runge, two brothers, Howard "Peewee" Runge Jr. and Ronald Runge, as well as her sister-in-law Joyce Runge and brother-in-law Sidney Smith. Her legacy as a dedicated environmentalist, loving sister, and adventurous traveler will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew her.
