Faye Ellen Purswell Causey, a loving and kind person who dedicated her life to caring for others and longtime resident of White City, Florida passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the age of 74 in Panama City, Florida. Born on October 13, 1950, in Florida, Faye's nurturing spirit was evident throughout her extensive career, where she worked over 40 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in nursing homes, home health, and Hospice. Her commitment to her profession reflected her deep-seated belief in helping those in need, making a profound impact on the lives she touched.
Faye was a devoted family member, who relished in creating memories with her loved ones, particularly during the cherished cookouts that brought everyone together. She had a vast array of interests and hobbies that included listening to gospel music, traveling—especially to the mountains—gardening, quilting, scrapbooking, crafts, and crocheting. In her younger years loved being on the river, enjoying the tranquility of fishing.
She is survived by her children: Richard "Ricky" Causey (Beth) of White City, Florida; Roy "Bit" Causey Jr. (Susan) of Altha, Florida; Chris Causey (Kassidy) of Wewahitchka, Florida; and Kelly Causey of Panama City, Florida. Faye is also survived by her two brothers, Joe Mac Purswell (Joanne) of Wewahitchka, Florida, and Jim Purswell (Toni) of Panama City, Florida; alongside her four sisters, Janice Lyles of Panama City, Florida, Mary Chason of Wewahitchka, Florida, Carol Purswell of Dade City, Florida, and Elaine Davidson (Bobby) of Carthage, North Carolina. Additionally, her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Ricky, Kelly (Josh), Nick, Allen, David (Kayla), Joshua, Leroy, Matthew (Jaden), Alexis, Christian, Kristie (John), Jamie (Lauren), and Brandi (Austin), along with numerous great-grandchildren.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, James R. Purswell and Mazie Lee Martin Purswell; her husband, Roy L. Causey Sr.; two grandchildren, Calvin Causey and Zayden Brown; and her siblings: Jenell Purswell, Audrey Purswell, Sherril Purswell, David Purswell, and Helen Purswell.
A visitation in her memory will take place on May 17, 2025, from 1:00 PM Central Time to 2:00 PM Central Time, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM Central Time at Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Wewahitchka, Florida with Pastor Joey Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Roberts Cemetery.
