Frank Elbert Hardin age 77 of Port St. Joe, Florida passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at his home. He was born in Marshall County Alabama on March 12, 1946, where he spent his life until enlisting in the United States Air Force. Frank proudly served his country in the Vietnam War and obtained the rank of Sgt. After four years of service, Frank moved to Port St. Joe, Florida and went to work for the telephone company until retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his wife watching the birds and squirrels that they fed daily in the yard. Frank also loved to watch westerns on T.V.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents Virgil and A.D. Hardin; one sister, Margarett Reagan; one brother, James Houston Hardin; special aunts, Olene Putnam and Chessie Schrimsher; one nephew, George “Buddy” Walton Simmons Jr. and one sister n law, Carolyn Swan.
Frank is survived by the love of his life of fifty-four years, Betty Hardin of Port St. Joe, Florida; one nephew, Aaron Simmons of Panama City, Florida; four nieces, Kristie Williams (Joey) of Panama City, Florida, Donna Friend (Tim) of Boaz, Alabama, Kay Tisdale (Trey) of Albertville, Alabama, and Regina James (Mark) of Priceville, Alabama; He is also survived by a host of great nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M Eastern Time on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Holly Hill Cemetery in Port St. Joe, Florida with military honors and Rev. Glenn Davis officiating.
