In Loving Memory of Gayle Tatum
October. 6, 1948- June 18, 2026
Gayle, age 77, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family.
Gayle was a woman with a strong spirit and unmistakable personality. She was opinionated in the best sense- never afraid to share what she thought and always true to herself.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures and especially loved shopping, reading, crafting and yard work.
Gayle was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Tatum; her mother Dessie Edgar, her father Ballard Edgar; her sister Gloria Pippin; and her nephew Paul Parmele.
Above all Gayle cherished her family. She leaves behind her children, Michelle (Richard) Albritton, Jenny (Jerry) Gilbert, Ivey (Jennifer) Tatum, step-daughter, Stephanie Tatum and her beloved grandchildren, Brittany, Hunter, Nickel, Jaxon, Allison, Katelyn, and Tanner, sister, Joyce Parmele, and many nieces and nephews.
Gayle’s memory will live on through the stories shared, traditions continued and the love she gave those closest to her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Eastern Time on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Holly Hill Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, Florida.
