Gerald Lee Hembree

Mr. Gerald Lee Hembree of Eastpoint Florida went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 29, 2026. He was surrounded by his loving wife Binnie, his children, his grandchildren and his great grandchildren.

Lee was born on February 26, 1942 in Atlanta, Georgia to his parents, Willie Harold and Margaret Hugh Hembree of Atlanta, Georgia.

Lee met the love of his life Binnie Sue Martin in 1959 and on September 17, 1961 they married and have been together for 67 years.

Lee grew up working alongside his family at their restaurant, Harold’s Barbecue, a renown longstanding Atlanta tradition for over 60yrs .

Lee was dearly loved by his family, friends and anyone who met him. He left a lasting legacy that was built on everyday moments of love, kindness, patience, and compassion, and most of all his love for Jesus. He led several of his family and friends to the Lord and his life was a living testimony of his deep love for his family and his dedication to God.

He is survived by his wife, Binnie Hembree and his two daughters, Denise Hembree and Lisa Hembree Ison, (Jerry ) of Eastpoint, Florida. 4 grandchildren, Jamie Anderson of Eastpoint, Florida. Jacob Anderson of Tallahassee, Florida. Kaley Ison Coulter( Dwayne) of Eastpoint Florida. Andrew Ison ( Danielle) of Apalachicola Florida, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. 1 sister Kay Hembree Branyon ( CJ ) and numerous nieces and nephews.
