Hubert Delon Mills

Hubert Delon Mills age 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11 2026 at his residence in Wewahitchka, Florida. Born on November 22, 1938, in Jay, Florida, Hubert spent the majority of his life in Hampton, Georgia, relocating to Florida six years ago.

Hubert worked at General Motors for many years as a Relief Man. His exceptional versatility allowed him to step into any role at any time so that operations ran smoothly no matter the circumstance.

As a young man, Hubert served in the National Guard. He approached life with a sense of curiosity and a passion for tinkering; he could fix almost anything and get it running. He took pleasure in efforts as humble as cutting grass and enjoyed fishing in recent years.

Hubert leaves behind his loving wife of sixty-seven, Equilla Jean Mills, of Wewahitchka, Florida; a son, David  Mills and wife, Pamela of Eastpoint, Florida; one brother, Vernon Mills Columbus, Georgia; one adopted son, Johnny Urspach of Jackson, Georgia, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Edward Mills and Eunice Velma Farmer Mills, two sons, Billy Dewayne Mills and Richard Emmett Mills and six siblings, Michael, Harold, Lamar, Ola Mae, Wayne, and Cindy.

Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, Florida.
