Huey Houston Hardy Sr., a lifelong resident of White City, Florida, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the age of 86, surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 8, 1938, in White City, he spent his life in the community he loved.

Huey served honorably in the United States Navy for four years and later became a dedicated heavy equipment operator for the Union until his retirement. His passion for life extended beyond his career; he found joy in fishing and hunting, as well as tending to his two fish tanks.

A devoted family man, Huey loved his grandchildren beyond measure, cherishing every moment spent with them. He is survived by his three daughters: Maxine Latta of Lynn Haven, Florida; Polly "Polywog" Hardy Smith of Crawfordville, Florida; and Patty Hardy Wilson Minger of Lynn Haven, Florida. His son, Huey H. Hardy Jr. "Buddy," resides in White City, Florida. In addition to his children, Huey embraced the role of grandfather to Andria Olson, Charles Smith, Sarah Smith, David Wilson, Haley Hardy, Rae Rae Hardy, and Tripp Hardy, along with six great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his legacy of love and strength.

Huey was also a proud Mason and a member of the Tupelo Masonic Lodge No. 289 in Wewahitchka, Florida.

He is predeceased by his parents, Jesse Hardy and Naomi Stevens Hardy Amen, as well as three sons-in-law: Michael H. Latta, Keith Elton Wilson II, and Ronald Erwin Minger; one daughter-in-law, Shannon Hardy; and five brothers and one sister.

The family invites all who knew and loved Huey to join them in commemorating his life. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Eastern Time at Hope Family Worship Center, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM Eastern Time. A private interment will be held at Holly Hill Cemetery in Port St. Joe, Florida.

Huey Houston Hardy Sr. leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and community that will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
