Our mother, Isabella Breedlove became one of Gods angels at the Ascension Sacred Heart hospital in Port St. Joe, Florida at the age of 81. Mom attended High School in Port St. Joe, Florida and later married our father, Willie Gene Breedlove who also attended the same school.
Together, they moved to Harlem and later relocated to Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. They had me, Marvin Breedlove and my sister, Nicole Breedlove. Our mother worked for a jewelry store in lower Manhattan and later decided to be a stay home mom.
Being the go getter she was, she attended college and started a career in Child Development. She started working at Young Minds Day Care Center in Ft. Greene, Brooklyn. Mom was a complicated woman, she was kind but resolute. She was stubborn and at times set in her ways, she was a daddy's girl as well.
Mom raised us to speak up for ourselves and become strong New Yorkers! Fight for what we believed in and become our own person and blaze our own path in life. Mom was also famous in Bed Stuy, she was the day care worker for the late Brooklyn rapper: The Notorious BIG.
Our childhood was good, we grew up in the same neighborhood as Mike Tyson, Chris Rock, Jay Z, the Cosby kids, Spike Lee and many others. Our mother was giving, warm hearted and caring. If you never experienced being in the presence of my mother, you never experienced love
Isabella Breedlove was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie B McCloud and Daisy McCloud. Siblings, Charlie B McCloud Jr., Willie B McCloud, Edward McCloud, Geniece McCloud and Bessie Suber.
She is survived by her children, Marvin Breedlove and Nicole Breedlove, both of New York; grandchildren, Jahleel Toussaint of Germany and Keziah Breedlove of New York; great-grandchildren, Messiah Toussaint and Kehlani both of Germany.
Mom loved music, especially from the Motown era, her favorite singer was Marvin Gaye. Mom loved to walk and love peanuts! Mrs. Breedlove exemplified how dedicated she was to her job when she took her class to the Bronx Zoo. NYC experienced a black out and she walked from the Bronx all the way to Brooklyn with a group of kids and made sure they were safe. Mrs. Isabella Breedlove fought a good fight, even though her heart was ready to give in, she kept fighting until she couldn't fight any longer. Our mother represented Brooklyn to the fullest!
Job Well Done!
