James Matthew Quattlebaum 51 of Chipley, Florida, more affectionately known as Matt, entered this world on April 8, 1974, and departed on to eternal life on September 7th, 2025, at 11:14 am in Jacksonville Fl at UF Health University Hospital. Matt was known for his intelligent mechanical skills. He was a Ford certified master mechanic and went on to be a master service advisor for many years. After his automotive career, he went on to operate heavy equipment. Matt had a love for racing cars, and he was an avid stock car racer, he built his own racing mustang car, which was his pride and joy. He loved working in his garage, most times that's where you could find him in the garage or going to pick up race car parts, that's how he spent his free time, turning wrenches. Matt was a Jack of all trades; there wasn't nothing he could not do or fix.
Matthew was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Quattlebaum, and his sister Crystal Dawn George, grandparents William and Elizabeth Street, RV and Lily Easter Quattlebaum. Aunt Wanda Jane Quattlebaum, Uncle Rickey Street, Walter Ray Yelvington, niece Lisa Jo George and several other relatives.
Matt was survived by his only son, Logyn Layne Quattlebaum. Sister Jessica Cullison and his favorite brother-in-law Nick Cullison. Uncle Johnny Mac Quattlebaum Aunt Elizabeth Walker. Nephews Hunter Cullison(Taryn) , Kegan Cullison(Gabriella), Niece Jaycee George. Girlfriend of 8 years Angela Boulton, Lifelong friend Dawn Fiscus, who he considered a sister, Special cousins Nina and Amber Quattlebaum, family friend Elaine Garrett and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
Per Matts wishes cremation was chosen and there will be no services.
Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, Florida.
