John Allen Thumm

John Allen Thumm, 69, passed away at home in Overstreet, Florida, on Saturday, September 12, 2026. He was born on January 22, 1957, in Michigan.

John grew up in Watervliet, Michigan, and moved to Gulf County in 1980. He loved fishing and found great pleasure in time spent on the water. He was also a history buff who enjoyed anything to do with military and wars, and he especially liked visiting retired battleships.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Thumm of Port St. Joe, Florida, and by his daughter, Melissa Clements, and her husband, Kevin, of Port St. Joe, Florida. He is also survived by his stepmother, Linda Thumm of Georgia; his brothers, Kip Thumm (Roberto) of Michigan, Todd Thumm of Michigan, Jody Thumm of Georgia, and Mike Thumm (Tonya) of Michigan; one sister, Debbie Hall of Georgia: mother in law, Peggy Turner and sister in law, Karla Weston. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

John was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Thumm; his mother, Josephine Ann Strand Thumm; his son, Jonathan Laporte Thumm; one unborn grandchild: father in law, Jesse Turner, and brother in law, Randy Weston.

He will be remembered with love by those who knew him and by the family who shared in his life. His memory will remain in the hearts of all who loved him.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
