Remembering Kimberly Ilene McCann Dolan

Kimberly Ilene McCann Dolan passed away on October 27, 2026, at the age of 67. Her husband, Tim, and her children were right there beside her during her final moments, surrounding her with the love that meant so much to her throughout her life.

Kimmy was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to Thomas Anthony McCann and Carol Sue O’Dea. She grew up in the St. Louis area and moved to Salem, Illinois, while in high school. She eventually settled in Decherd, Tennessee, where she made a home and a life filled with family, laughter, and love. The last six months of her life were spent in her dream beach cottage in Indian Pass, near Port St. Joe, Florida.

Kimmy and Timmy shared 35 years together, including 30 years of marriage. Throughout those years, they built a life and a family full of memories, adventures, and love.

Family was everything to Kimmy. She loved bringing everyone together for big family dinners, sharing stories, reminiscing about the old days, and catching up on everyone’s lives. Her grandchildren brought her endless happiness, and she treasured every moment spent with them. She also loved traveling, camping, crafting, shopping, and decorating, especially for the holidays.

Kimmy earned her master’s degree in education and spent 14 years teaching middle school in Shelbyville, Tennessee, helping young people learn and grow.

If you knew Kimmy, you will likely remember her beautiful smile and contagious laugh. When she got laughing, it was hard not to join in. Her laughter had a way of filling a room and bringing everyone along with her. It was one of the things people loved most about her, and it will be deeply missed.

Kimmy is survived by her husband, Timothy Dolan; her three children, Rebecca Kent (Daniel), Charles Dolan, and Cynthia Mace (Jordan); and her six grandchildren, Kara Dolan, Lacey Dolan, DJ Kent, Conor Wallace, Clover Kent, and Kenley Wallace. She is also survived by her siblings, Michael McCann, Kelly Beckham, and Kristin Gulley, along with many other family members and friends who loved her.

Kimmy leaves behind a family filled with memories, stories, and traditions that will carry her love forward. And whenever laughter fills a room, her family will think of her and remember the joy she brought to those around her.

A celebration of Kimmy’s life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends when arrangements have been made.

She was so loved, and she always will be.
