Lillian Elizabeth Clay Nelson Thompson age 87, peacefully transitioned to life eternal on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

Lillian Elizabeth Clay Nelson Thompson was born on September 19, 1938, to Ruth Foxworth and Mr. Clay in Apalachicola, Florida.

She was a graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1957. Following her education, she dedicated her professional life to the culinary field, where she was known for her exceptional cooking.

Lillian was a faithful Member and Usher of Zion Fair Baptist Church for over 40 years. She was also a devoted member of the Usher’s Union for over 40 years. She remained spiritually connected under the watch care of Pastor Tolan Morgan at Fellowship Baptist Church in Warner Robins, Georgia, for 15 years.

She was a woman who truly loved life. Playing bingo was her all-time favorite hobby, traveling to new places, and cooking for those she loved. Family was at the center of her world, and to her family, she was a trailblazer—one who paved the way, uplifted others, and ensured her family stood strong together.

She is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Ruth Foxworth; her father, Mr. Clay; her husband, Cullen Thompson; her sisters, Dorothy Foxworth and Vera Foxworth; and her baby, Latisha Watson.

Lillian leaves to cherish her precious memories, a loving family:

Grandchildren: Christopher Watson (Aaron); Felicia (Gary) Reece; James Williams, Jr.; Jasmine Williams; 3 great grandchildren.

Daughter: Barbara Nelson Walker

Grandchildren: Coya Jones (Calvin); Latonya Bailey; Equillar Gainer (Johnnie); Linette Bailey; 11 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren.

Daughter: Joyce Davis (Marvin)

Grandchildren: Lydell Alexander (Martha); Karen Reece (Steve); Cedric Davis (Marquista); 10 great grandchildren, 2 great great children.

Daughter: Sherry Outlaw Stallworth

Siblings: Rita Stevens, Joseph Foxworth (Valencia), June Smiley

Special friends, Cyril Thomas, Albert Slappy. Best Friend, Helen Hamilton

And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whose lives were touched by her kindness, wisdom, and enduring love.

Graveside Services for Mrs. Thompson will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. Eastern Time at Forest Hill Cemetery In Port St. Joe, Florida. Repast will be held at New Life Christian Center.
