Linda Marie Marquardt, 75, of Mexico Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on October 31, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Although Linda was born in Iron Mountain, Michigan, she was raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin. At 20, she boarded a Greyhound bus and headed to Florida to meet up with her future husband, Tom Marquardt. They sailed around the Bahamas before marrying in West Palm Beach in 1973. A few years later, they discovered Mexico Beach, which Linda called home for nearly 50 years. Together, they owned and operated Marquardt’s Marina for 30 years.
Linda loved her family and spending time with them, wherever they were. She was always game for an adventure, whether traveling across the country with Tom on their Harleys or taking “girls’ trips” with her daughters. She enjoyed boating, collecting seashells, dancing, and spending time with family by the pool. Her green thumb was the envy of many, and she treasured every opportunity to be with her grandchildren. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, sister, and the best Mimi.
Linda is survived by her husband of 53 years, Tom; her daughters, Chrystina (Jason) Adams of Mexico Beach, Florida, and Amanda (James) Clements of Albany, Georgia; her grandchildren, Eli Adams, Evelyn Clements, and Thomas Clements; her sister, Sharon (Wayne) Klinkhammer of Prattville, Alabama; and her brother, Alan (Jolene) Conard of Lake Elmo, Minnesota. She also leaves behind many beloved brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Evelyn Conard, and her siblings, Tommy Conard and Kathy Butchart.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Central Time on Friday, November 13, 2026, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 929 S. Tyndall Parkway, Panama City, Florida. Visitation will be held one hour before the service.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Linda’s memory to Forget Me Not Fund, Inc., at www.forgetmenotfund.org or to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
