Melvin was preceded in death by his wife, Patty Louise Nachtsheim; his father, Thomas Curry Nachtsheim; his mother, Mary Alice Nachtsheim; his sisters, Katherine Nachtsheim and Gertrude Nachtsheim; and his brothers, Bert Nachtsheim and Henry Nachtsheim.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time at Beach Chapel Baptist Church in Port St. Joe, Florida. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Pleasant Rest Cemetery with military honors.
