Priscilla Walker Paterson

September 1, 1947 — August 25, 2025

Apalachicola, Florida

Priscilla (Walker) Paterson passed away, surrounded by her family, on August 25, 2025, after a courageous 14-year journey with dementia. In her nearly 78 years, she touched countless hearts in a way that only Priscilla could — with sincerity, generosity, and joy.

Priscilla’s beauty and grace endured until her final days. She lived her life with a fierce devotion to her family and friends, and her home was always filled with love, laughter, and warmth. She delighted in cooking, singing, and dancing, and she embraced every chance to celebrate life. Gifted with a vivid imagination, Priscilla brought whimsy and fun into motherhood, knowing the importance of joy and play within her family. Her greatest passion was being a loving wife and mother, roles she fulfilled with endless devotion.

Born in Avon Park, Florida, to Curtis and Johnny Walker, Priscilla spent her childhood in Florida, Alabama and Georgia, blossoming into a beautiful young woman. She graduated from Dougherty High School in 1965 and carried with her the deep bonds of family that began in her earliest years. She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Walker, and is survived by her sisters Ann (Walker) Bond and Judy (Walker) Chandler, and her brother Vann Walker. To her siblings, in-laws, and extended family - Priscilla was not only a cherished sister, but also a beloved sister-in-law, aunt, and friend. She was deeply adored and will be remembered for the love, warmth and joy she brought into all their lives.

The love of her life was her husband of 59 years, Robert “Robbie” Lee Paterson. Married as teenagers on April 30, 1966, they built a life together anchored in faith, love, and family. Side by side, they raised six children and delighted in welcoming eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Priscilla’s home was a gathering place filled with delicious meals, laughter, and connection. She made it her mission to ensure her husband, children, and extended family remained closely tied, creating a rich tapestry of family memories that will endure for generations.

Priscilla is survived by her beloved husband, Robbie, and their children: Kimberly Lynn Thomas (Jack), Robert Stephen Paterson (Jennifer), Joseph Curtis Paterson, Jennifer Anne Galloway, Jessica Amy Oliveira (Tiago), and Benjamin David Paterson (Eleni). She was the proud grandmother of Katelyn Priscilla Thomas, Dylan Corbett Dunaway, Jack Sawyer Thomas (Madilyn), Chase Hunter Galloway (Casey), Luke Joseph Galloway (Cassie), Axel Schuyler Thomas, Jake Stephen Paterson (Anna), Lea Themalina Paterson, Zoe Priscilla Paterson, George Henry Oliveira, and Ava Rose Oliveira. Her great-grandchildren, Serena Grace, Gannon Michael, and Hallie Mae Thomas, Walker Dewitt Galloway, and Claire Victoria Paterson.

Right up until she could no longer speak, Priscilla expressed gratitude for the blessings in her life. She considered herself abundantly rich — not in material things, but in love, family, and friendship. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion, faith, and joy, and she will live on in the hearts of her loved ones who will forever cherish her life lessons.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery in Apalachicola. Repast following immediately will be at The Lodge at Rivercrest 501 Bay City Road, Apalachicola. All who knew and loved Priscilla are welcome to join in honoring her memory. Though her earthly journey has ended, the love she gave so freely will continue to shine brightly through her family and all who carry her memory in their hearts. She is our Angel.
