Shelley Dianne (Tindell) Segree, 57, of Eastpoint, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday,  August 25, 2026, at 11:55 p.m., surrounded by a host of people who loved her dearly. 

Shelley was born on September 25, 1968, in Carrabelle, Florida, to Regina Tindell and the late Willie Frank “Curley” Tindell. She grew up in the little town of Eastpoint, where her mama shucked oysters and her daddy worked on the docks. Those humble roots helped shape Shelley into the strong, hardworking, and feisty woman her family and friends knew and loved.

From the time she was a little girl, Shelley loved to read. She carried that love throughout her life, but nothing compared to the love she had for her family. Shelley was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. To her grandchildren, she was simply Mimi—and in Mimi's eyes, her grands could do no wrong.Shelley was the proud mother of her two daughters, Meagan Dyane Millender and husband Trey Millender, and Robyn Renea Nunez and husband John Nunez. She was a devoted Mimi to Parker Millender, Riley Mathes, Nariah Nunez, and Reagan Nunez, each of whom held an incredibly special place in her heart. She is also survived by her mother, Regina Tindell; Gadson Wendell Segree of Eastpoint, father of her daughters and an important part of the family they shared; her brothers, Tony Dewayne Tindell and wife Laurie Tindell, and Jonathan Dustin Tindell and wife Susan Curtis Tindell; and her nieces and nephews, Kady Tindell, Tiffany Tindell, Samantha Tindell, Elizabeth Tindell, Analee Gleckner, and Matthew Tindell.

Shelley was preceded in death by her father, Willie Frank “Curley” Tindell; her paternal grandparents, Floyd and Vivia Tindell; and her maternal grandparents, Louise Shiver Coutu and husband Joe Coutu, and Jimmie Lee Shiver. Also especially dear to Shelley's heart were her great-grandparents, Florence Dawson Faircloth and M. Faircloth, and J.B. Dawson.

Anyone who knew Shelley knew that she was a hard worker. She worked until she absolutely could not work anymore, and along the way, the people she worked beside became much more than coworkers. She deeply loved her extended work family, affectionately known as her “blonde daughters.” The friendships she made throughout her life were a reflection of the kind of person she was—someone who could become not just a friend, but family. Shelley was feisty until the very end. She loved fiercely, worked hard, spoke her mind, and loved her family with everything she had. She was a best friend, a daughter, a sister, a mama, and a Mimi. Each of those names represented someone whose life was forever changed because Shelley was a part of it. 

Although those who love her will miss her tremendously, there is comfort in knowing that Shelley is no longer suffering and is resting peacefully with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her family will carry her memory with them in the stories they tell, the laughter they share, and especially through the children and grandchildren she loved beyond measure. She was our Mama. She was our Mimi. And she was deeply, deeply loved.

A funeral service to celebrate Shelley's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Eastern Time on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at United Baptist Church in Eastpoint, Florida with Pastors Bobby Shiver & Scott Shiver officiating. Interment will follow at Eastpoint Cemetery.
