Stanley Dewayne Sanders, a beloved family man and accomplished musician, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on January 15, 1939, in Cleveland, Tennessee to the late Fred Sanders and Robbie Dean Lane Sanders.
Stanley dedicated a significant part of his life to his career, working as a painter at Cannon Corp, from which he eventually retired. His professional journey reflected not only his strong work ethic but also his commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
Beyond his career, Stanley was known for his extraordinary talent as a musician. He had a passion for playing guitar and singing, often performing at local venues, and he even recorded his own music. Music was more than just a hobby; it was a profound aspect of his life that brought joy not only to him but also to those around him.
Stanley's interests extended beyond music. He took great delight in spending time in his workshop, where he enjoyed piddling away his hours on various projects. Additionally, he cultivated a beautiful vegetable garden, reflecting both his love for the earth and the joy he found in nurturing life.
At the center of Stanley's world was his loving wife, Virginia Sanders, with whom he shared fifty-four wonderful years. Their enduring partnership was a testament to their deep affection and mutual respect. He is also survived by his children: Fred Sanders of Ray City, Georgia, Della Horton of Valdosta, Georgia, Kayla Williams and her husband Torch of Sanford, Florida, Tiffany Fogle of Port St. Joe, Florida, and Alicia Knox and her husband Brad of Port St. Joe, Florida. Each of his children carries forward the values and lessons instilled in them by their father.
Stanley took pride in his role as a grandfather, and he is survived by his grandchildren: Michael Johnson, Christy Sanders, Justin Sanders, Tanner Fogle, Evan Fogle, Peyton Knox, and Presley Knox. He also leaves behind a treasured legacy of great-grandchildren, including Shelby, Nikolas, Adalynn, Olivia, Addie Grace, Nora, Jayda, and C.J.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; along with his sisters, Evelyn Morgan and Sharon Norris, and brothers, Paul Price and David Price.
