Steven Leon Hill

Steven Leon Hill, age 69, passed away on August 17, 2026, in Port St. Joe, Florida.

Steven was born on October 4, 1956, in Columbus, Mississippi, to Bobby Noel Hill and Bobbie Sue Vanderford.

He proudly served for 20 years in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Technical Sergeant and continuing a family tradition of military service. His father, Bobby Noel Hill, served 26 years in the Air Force and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant.

For more than 51 years, Vonda Hill was an important part of Steven’s life. Their life together began when Steven was 18, and during his military career they were stationed in Germany, California, and Alabama, building a family and sharing a lifetime of memories along the way.

After retiring from the Air Force, Steven continued his public service with the State of Alabama, where he worked for 18 years and served as Director of System Development and Integration. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and built a career around technology, leadership, and service.

Steven was someone who would do anything he could for his family and friends. He often showed his love through his actions, helping, fixing, solving problems, and being there when someone needed him.

Survivors include his son, Joshua Scott Hill and wife, Anna Lindzy, of Clearwater, Florida; his brother, Mike Hill and wife, Jenny Hill, of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida; his brother-in-law, Kenny Holland and wife, Donna Holland, of Iuka, Mississippi; his niece, Skylar Holland Walker and husband, Kent, of Birmingham, Alabama; his nephew, James Steven Hamilton and his wife Vicki; his niece, Jennifer and Tim McCloskey of Montverde, Florida; his great-nephews, Chase Tucker Hamilton and James Steven Hamilton II; and his cousin, Patty Jamison, and her children, Amy Jamison and Adam Jamison.

He is also remembered by his dear friends Mike Hudgens of Ramer, Alabama; Galen and Carolyn Suiter of Quincy, Florida; and Wilburn Sharp of Wetumpka, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Noel Hill, and his mother, Bobbie Sue Vanderford.
