Thomas Wayne Chavous

Thomas Wayne Chavous, longtime resident of Gulf County, passed away at his residence in Wewahitchka, Florida, on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the age of 60. He was born on March 27, 1966 in Gainesville, Florida,

He devoted most of his career to the construction industry. In the final eight years before his retirement, Thomas worked at Captain's Cove Boat Marina.

He enjoyed being at home watching T.V.

Thomas is survived by one daughter, Alisha Chavous; three sisters, Janet Dempster (Jon), Jeannie Nix, and Tammy Burrows; two grandsons; and his lifetime partner, Traci Bales.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eric Jerome Chavous and Ollie Jean Langley Chavous, as well as his sister, Teresa Diane King.

Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, Florida.
