Willie Clyde “Jim” Bozeman Jr., 83, of Wewahitchka, Florida, went home to be with his Lord and Savior peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, April 26, 2026.
Jim was born on March 8, 1943, and lived a life defined by connection, laughter, and a genuine love for people. He never met a stranger, and the friendships he formed lasted a lifetime. His smile could light up a room, and his quick wit and sense of humor brought joy to everyone around him.
Jim had a diverse and meaningful career, working as a teacher, insurance adjuster, and ultimately as a social worker for the State of Florida serving to protect children. He was a proud graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and a lifelong member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. His fraternity brothers—Jimmy O'Dell, Pete Scarborough, Gary Bornfleth, and Gary Wakstein—remained loyal friends from 1964 onward, a testament to the lasting bonds he created. Jim was a member of Honeyville Methodist Church. He also served many years as a deacon and Sunday School Director at the First Baptist Church of Wewahitchka.
He had a love for tennis, but his true passion was bass fishing. Whether fishing for sport or in tournaments, he found peace and happiness on the water.
Above all, Jim loved his family. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Barbara Bozeman; his son, Bradley Scott Bozeman; his daughter, Tiffany Craft and her husband, Daric Craft; and his stepdaughter, Cerrelle McKinney and her husband, Will McKinney. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Drew Bozeman, Skyler Bozeman, Sloan Bozeman, Logan Craft and his wife Ashley Craft, Wayne Wright III, Hannah McKinney, Samantha McKinney, Gwyneth McKinney, and Harrison McKinney along with two great grandchildren, Brooks Craft and Bennett Craft.
He is also survived by his brother, Gregory Bozeman and his wife, Libby Bozeman, as well as his beloved cousin, Dimples Hawkins, along with many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Clyde Bozeman and Ada Leona Bozeman, and his brother, Arthur Bozeman.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at Honeyville Methodist Church in Wewahitchka, Florida, on Saturday, May 9, 2026, beginning at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:30 a.m.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy O'Dell, Pete Scarborough, Gary Bornfleth, Gary Wakstein, Grady “Buck” Booth, and Jerry Kelly.
Jim will be remembered for his laughter, his kindness, his unwavering love for his family, and the countless lives he touched along the way.
Arrangements are entrusted to the caring staff of Comforter Funeral Home in Port St. Joe, Florida.
